Outdoorgearstore.com.au monthly emails are published by COutdoor Retail Group Pty Ltd (ABN 87 149 114 223), which employs staff and manages subscriber databases for the outdoorgearstore.com.au and work.outdoorgearstore.com.au businesses. In this privacy policy outdoorgearstore.com.au/work.outdoorgearstore.com.au are jointly referred to as "OGS".
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to advise subscribers, online customers and staff members what kind of information the organisation may collect, how that information may be used, to whom it may be disclosed, how that information is stored (including security of the information), the processes for correcting information held and the disposal of such information by OGS.
By purchasing from our stores, you agree that we may send promotional emails from time to time. If you do not wish to receive those emails, simply "instantly unsubscribe" from the first one you receive and you'll never hear from us again.
Use and disclosure of personal information
OGS will use personal information provided to it only for the purpose for which it was provided. Personal information will not be used for any other purpose without the consent of its provider unless OGS is required by law to disclose that information. OGS may be required to disclose personal information to third parties in order to provide a service requested. For example, online purchases from our store may require disclosure of subscribers' addresses to third parties for delivery, disclosure necessary to fulfil the purpose for which the personal information was provided. Other than in circumstances such as these, OGS will not disclose personal information provided, such as name, address, email address or telephone number, to any organisation or person outside OGS unless the provider has authorised OGS to do so.
No sale of personal information
OGS will not sell or receive payment for licensing or disclosing personal information. OGS will provide, where possible, access for providers of personal information to their file. Providers may correct any information that is incorrect and instruct OGS to delete the information from its files. Reasonable steps will be taken to correct the information so that it is accurate, complete and up to date.
Security
OGS uses reasonable administrative, technical, personnel, and physical measures to safeguard personally identifiable information in its possession against loss, theft, and unauthorised use, disclosure or modification. No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure. Remember to close your browser when you have finished shopping online. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet café. You as an individual are responsible for the security of and access to your own computer.
As part of our Merchant Card processing procedures, we never store your CCV/CCV2 number from your credit card, it is deleted after order processing, in compliance with VISA and MasterCard policies. We do not store any card information on our premises.

Fraud Prevention Policy
As part of our internal processes to minimise online fraud, we may, at our discretion, request additional personal information from customers, in order to process an order to our satisfaction. We typically request this information if you have not provided enough or unverifiable information, if you have a 'free' email address or the order exceeds our threshold amount. We also request this information for electronic goods and high value items.
We have two means of verifying your information, the first is:
1. We will process a small refund to your credit card account and then request you tell us how much the refund was for.
OR
2. Using the additional information you provide we can do a secure search of the FCS Online identity verification database that we subscribe to. This database verifies the details you provide, against government, DFAT, White Pages® DirectAccess and commercial databases and simply provides us with a "correct" or "incorrect" response from the service - we do not receive or view any personal information from this service.
The additional information we may request is:
- Date of Birth, and
- Australian Passport Number (with Surname at Birth and Country of Birth and Place of Birth), or
- Medicare Number (and reference number i.e. 1,2,3)
If you do not wish to provide this information, then we MUST use option 1, so you will need internet or telephone banking access to your credit card account used to make the purchase.
We are unable to vary this policy, it is designed to protect both our customers and our store's online integrity.

OGS is continually monitoring privacy developments and accordingly, from time to time may modify this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the law, self-regulatory initiatives and/or technology. Any update or change will be listed on this page.
